Spectators: 7564 (Terracing: 5674, Seating: 1739, VIP seats: 151) Passarao's Guto Tróia started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Guto Tróia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Mário Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Dráusio Queiroz hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Gilberto Gonçalves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to COLUMBUS CREW BR getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Thomás Bezerra hit a great ball. In the 19th minute, Aírton Paes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 25 minutes, Robinho Peixoto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Passarao and the COLUMBUS CREW BR players grew even worse after the yellow card. Robinho Peixoto hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, COLUMBUS CREW BR's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Tróia came free, but Mário Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olavo Arósio kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. In the 37th minute, Gilberto Gonçalves left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Passarao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 44th minute Guto Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half Passarao were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Celso Zanette was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Passarao booed when COLUMBUS CREW BR was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Enrique Baiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 53rd minute Guto Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mário Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. COLUMBUS CREW BR's Mário Matos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Tróia in the 55th minute of play. When Passarao's Guto Tróia in the 58th minute got a chance for a shot 58th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Celso Zanette scored 1-1 in the 60th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Perivaldo Reis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 63 minutes, Gilberto Gonçalves managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Passarao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Gonçalves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gilberto Gonçalves who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Mário Matos when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Gilberto Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guto Tróia in the 69th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mário Matos saved COLUMBUS CREW BR from getting behind. Enrique Baiano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Perivaldo Reis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Enrique Baiano got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 79th minute of the match Thomás Bezerra shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Perivaldo Reis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Zanette in the 82nd minute of play forced Passarao's goalkeeper Perivaldo Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Celso Zanette notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Passarao's Perivaldo Reis. Perivaldo Reis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 88 minutes into the match, COLUMBUS CREW BR's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Tróia came free, but Mário Matos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mário Matos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilberto Gonçalves in the 89th minute. Enrique Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Celso Zanette in the 96th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Perivaldo Reis saved Passarao from getting behind. COLUMBUS CREW BR were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Passarao for a fine match.
