Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) 4 minutes into the match, Blue Mountain State's goal looked a bit too open when Otávio Trancoso came free, but Serginho Vieira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Otávio Trancoso blasted a shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Serginho Vieira having to make a save. After having played for 18 minutes, Agostinho Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agnaldo Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Tadeu Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgar Almeida charged in rather forcefully in the 22nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Edgar Almeida the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 22nd minute, Edgar Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 23 minutes, Agostinho Corrêa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agostinho Corrêa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Serginho Vieira made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Gustavo Barreto sent off a good shot on target. When Delfim Eger fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blue Mountain State's protests and gave Delfim Eger a yellow card for diving instead. After 27 played minutes Blue Mountain State got a freekick which was hit by Delfim Eger. Agnaldo Batista recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A hard shot 31 in the game by Otávio Trancoso from a close distance when the talented Serginho Vieira managed to make a qualified save. Blue Mountain State's players were relieved. Simão de Sena received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tadeu Cearense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jeferson Travassos's late challenge caught a Divinopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jeferson Travassos helped the player get up and apologised. If Agnaldo Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tadeu Cearense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Agostinho Corrêa went, in the 43rd minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Oséas Leme during the 47th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 46th minute of the game. One of Divinopolis:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Blue Mountain State:s goal. Jailson Moreira walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Agostinho Corrêa made a kick off. Otávio Trancoso fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Serginho Vieira having to interfere. After 59 played minutes Divinopolis got a freekick which was hit by Daniel Queiroz. Serginho Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Otávio Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute Otávio Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Serginho Vieira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes into the match, Divinopolis's goalkeeper Tadeu Cearense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agnaldo Batista. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Agnaldo Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blue Mountain State's supporters rose to their feet, but Agnaldo Batista was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tadeu Cearense breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 79 minutes into the game, Cícero da Mata was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blue Mountain State's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Divinopolis the free kick. In the 81st minute, Otávio Trancoso made a precise shot to the right of Serginho Vieira. Blue Mountain State's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. 88 minutes into the match, Gustavo Barreto notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Blue Mountain State's Serginho Vieira. Serginho Vieira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Otávio Trancoso took the ball and in the 96 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Serginho Vieira. Serginho Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. Blue Mountain State's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Divinopolis had won, even though Blue Mountain State had held more of the ball.
