The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tadeu Cearense showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The supporters of Divinopolis booed when Climax FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benedito de Sena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hamílton da Mata took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 25th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Tadeu Cearense. Divinopolis's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 30th minute, Otávio Trancoso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Divinopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Otávio Trancoso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Remigio Claus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cido Negri in the 33rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadeu Cearense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Divinopolis's zone, Nabucodonosor Canturri stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tadeu Cearense came out of the goal and Nabucodonosor Canturri tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Yan Domingues hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Otávio Trancoso to strike the kick off in the second half. Tadeu Cearense was out of position in the 54 minute of play, and Cido Negri capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cido Negri really showed his touch with that goal: 0-5. 62 minutes into the match, Divinopolis's goalkeeper Tadeu Cearense had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cido Negri.
