Blue Mountain State's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Matheus Duarte was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Enrique Abreu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Corrêa, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Matheus Duarte made a kick off. Elano Senna's late challenge caught a Atlético Catarinense's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
