Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Blue Mountain State's Agostinho Corrêa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Agnaldo Batista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. Perseveranca's Enrique Freire played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Corrêa in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 11 minutes, Agostinho Corrêa took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Enrique Freire to make any attempt to save it. Jeferson Travassos kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 15th minute, Víktor Valle managed to get in a good position for a shot. Perseveranca's supporters rose to their feet, but Víktor Valle was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Serginho Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Serginho Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Branco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Agostinho Corrêa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enrique Freire having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Víktor Valle to make the kick off. Agostinho Corrêa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Enrique Freire tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Jeferson Travassos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Blue Mountain State fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. After having played for 73 minutes, Agnaldo Batista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blue Mountain State's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agnaldo Batista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th match minute, Perseveranca was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Víktor Valle to maneuver through the defense. Serginho Vieira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Branco in the 81st minute.
