Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the C.F. Minas Gerais defense, Diguinho Luz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Iuri de Brito. The C.F. Minas Gerais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iuri de Brito should have stopped the shot. Olivér Pápai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Acácio Almeida's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. Iuri de Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felippe Figueiredo in the 27th minute of play. 33 minutes into the game, Diguinho Luz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Iuri de Brito was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Diguinho Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Emilio Piearres hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Diguinho Luz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The crowd rose to their feet as Felippe Figueiredo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Iuri de Brito. That made the score 1-5 in the 59 minute of play. Diguinho Luz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Iuri de Brito having to make a save. In the 66th minute, Manchester United's Diguinho Luz ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Iuri de Brito. Minas Gerais fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Iuri de Brito should have stopped the shot. After having played for 80 minutes, Felippe Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Manchester United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felippe Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 97th match minute, Manchester United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cássio de Salles to maneuver through the defense.
