If Kosmas Trabakoulos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aníbal Veloso kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice moves Toninho Cordeiro could shoot a difficult shot in the 16th minute, which Marcinho Moraes however easily saved by the left post. 20 minutes into the game, Jorginho Silva recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcinho Moraes. Jorginho Silva showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. With an all-out effort, Mamute's Marcinho Moraes threw himself towards the right post 23 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Hudson Vianna, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Jarbas Lopez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aírton Silveira in the 26th minute of the match. Maximiliano Fernendo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Marcinho Moraes having to interfere. The supporters of Mamute booed when Astroworld was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ivo Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball.
