Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Richard Cardoso got the match started through his kick off. Diamantino da Cunha could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 2nd minute of the match, but Vicente Loyola made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Célio Trevisan in the 4th minute of play forced SOCCER FC's goalkeeper Vicente Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 5th minute, Richard Cardoso made a precise shot to the right of Julio-César Fenomeno. Gongonhas SS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. SOCCER FC were furious when Edinho de Alcântara was red carded, 11 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 10 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for SOCCER FC! The referee gave Gongonhas SS a penalty, 12 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Diamantino da Cunha, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of SOCCER FC's Vicente Loyola. 1-1. Vicente Loyola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chico Antunes in the 20th minute of play. In the 28th minute Chico Antunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 33 minutes into the game, Nildo Fernandez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SOCCER FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gongonhas SS the free kick. Nildo Fernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. 44 minutes into the game, SOCCER FC's Joaquim Mazza nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio-César Fenomeno made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After 48 minutes of play, Gongonhas SS's Diamantino da Cunha made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Loyola was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-2.
58 minutes into the match, Chico Antunes notched a goal, 4-2, to the right of SOCCER FC's Vicente Loyola. Vicente Loyola was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 61st match minute, SOCCER FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jefferson Lara to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 63 minutes, Chico Antunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Gongonhas SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chico Antunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Vicente Loyola didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Célio Trevisan went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-2 was the resulting score. 71 minutes into the game, Gongonhas SS's Chico Antunes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Vicente Loyola made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-2. Chico Antunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. SOCCER FC's Vicente Loyola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Célio Trevisan in the 76th minute of play. Vicente Loyola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chico Antunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Vicente Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Célio Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio-César Fenomeno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Willian Valle in the 82nd minute. SOCCER FC were awarded a corner in the 83th minute after Gongonhas SS's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Rômulo Falcão took the corner. Raimundo Vianna tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Julio-César Fenomeno. An unnecessary self made goal, 6-3 in the 83rd minute. After 87 minutes of play, Gongonhas SS's Sebastião Fernandes made it 7-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Loyola was left in no man's land by his defense there! 89 minutes into the game, Diguinho Botelho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Gongonhas SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SOCCER FC the free kick. After 89 played minutes Gongonhas SS got a freekick which was hit by Diguinho Botelho. Joaquim Mazza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jefferson Lara's late challenge caught a Gongonhas SS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jefferson Lara helped the player get up and apologised. Gongonhas SS's Diamantino da Cunha got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 98th minute Célio Trevisan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vicente Loyola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
