The audience thought a goal was coming when Luiz Paulo Mesquita got free with Duarte Santana in the 10th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sandro Valladares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Amadeu Furtado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 79th minute, Luiz Paulo Mesquita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Duarte Santana was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Marcinho Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Furtado having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 84 minutes, Luiz Paulo Mesquita put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Duarte Santana. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sandro Valladares in the 88th minute of play forced Cabeceirinha's goalkeeper Amadeu Furtado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Cabeceirinha's Dráuzio Meirelles got a free kick in the 89th minute. Víktor Coutinho shot from long distance in the 90th minute, but Amadeu Furtado was prepared and stopped the ball at the left post. Cabeceirinha's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
