Serginho Hermes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but Gugu Pena made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Abelardo Netto's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedro Vianna was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. Abelardo Netto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 32 minutes into the match, Abelardo Netto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Yara's Pedro Vianna. Pedro Vianna was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 37th match minute, Yara was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Serginho Hermes to maneuver through the defense. In the 39thth minute of the game Abelardo Netto who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Yara's Pedro Vianna was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, Yara's Guilherme Marquez got a free kick in the 59th minute. 61 minutes into the game, Hermínio Penha was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Yara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave OFF the free kick. The OFF supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing OFF would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
