Saguoes's Eurico Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 5th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zé Carlos Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Dinei Arruda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Atlético Fênix FC. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fiori Vargas in the 14th minute of play forced Saguoes's goalkeeper Dinei Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 15 minutes into the match, Fiori Vargas notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Saguoes's Dinei Arruda. Dinei Arruda was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrianinho Aguiar during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 18 played minutes Saguoes got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Aguiar. Adrianinho Aguiar hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Armindo da Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Olívio Amorim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Olívio Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Atlético Fênix FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armindo da Costa came free, but Olívio Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Olívio Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eurico Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Olívio Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eurico Batista in the 33rd minute of play. In the 39th minute, Armindo da Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Saguoes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. If Eurico Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 45 minutes, Armindo da Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Saguoes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Armindo da Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Carlos Azevedo to strike the kick off in the second half. Dinei Arruda showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Carlos Azevedo in the 57th minute of the match. When Armindo da Costa came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Saguoes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Armindo da Costa couldn't finish the play. Atlético Fênix FC's Olívio Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Fênix FC from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Saguoes's zone, Zé Carlos Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dinei Arruda came out of the goal and Zé Carlos Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Fiori Vargas in the 65th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dinei Arruda prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Atlético Fênix FC's Zé Carlos Azevedo in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Saguoes's goalie prevented a goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eurico Batista during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Saguoes getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Eurico Batista hit a great ball. Maurício Cerezo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Eurico Batista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eurico Batista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Saguoes's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
