The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dinei Arruda made a fantastic save in the 3rd minute, when Vitório Eger sent off a good shot on target. Betão Castro's late challenge caught a Saguoes's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Betão Castro helped the player get up and apologised. Betão Castro hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Saguoes's Dinei Arruda got control of the ball when Vitório Eger tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 14 played minutes Saguoes got a freekick which was hit by Armindo da Costa. Ulyanov DR's Vitório Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 15th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Armindo da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Benton having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Eurico Batista in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wayne Benton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Ulyanov DR's Betão Castro got a free kick in the 38th minute. In the 40th minute, Vitório Eger made a precise shot to the right of Dinei Arruda. Saguoes's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Dinei Arruda made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Eulalio Emesto sent off a good shot on target. After 47 played minutes Saguoes got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Melo. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Ulyanov DR's Vitório Eger got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the match clock showed 55 minutes, the score became 2-1 when Breno Vander sped through Saguoes's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dinei Arruda. If Breno Vander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Breno Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dinei Arruda having to interfere. Wayne Benton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Breno Vander in the 66th minute of play forced Saguoes's goalkeeper Dinei Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Armindo da Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wayne Benton having to interfere. Armindo da Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Vitório Eger in the 80th minute of play forced Saguoes's goalkeeper Dinei Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dinei Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Breno Vander, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 86th minute, Vitório Eger got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 91 minutes into the game, Vitório Eger cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Dinei Arruda was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dinei Arruda showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Breno Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute.
