After a defensive mix-up in Real Poá FC's zone, Cesinha Dante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rony Soeiro came out of the goal and Cesinha Dante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dráuzio Pena stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Fiori Baiano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Real Poá FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cataguazes SC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
