When the match clock showed 14 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Jochem Heesen sped through Nome do Time's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pål Rudkvist. When Canelada FC's Jochem Heesen in the 17th minute got a chance for a shot 17th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. When José Guerra came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the Canelada FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Guerra couldn't finish the play. With a little luck, Nome do Time's Pål Rudkvist got control of the ball when Geovanni Pena tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Nome do Time's Luiz Guilherme Meireles got a free kick in the 27th minute. In the 33rd minute, Canelada FC's Jochem Heesen dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. In the 39th minute, Nome do Time's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Geovanni Pena fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Luís Guilherme Pereira's late challenge caught a Canelada FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Guilherme Pereira helped the player get up and apologised. In the 42nd minute, Luís Guilherme Pereira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Nome do Time booed when Canelada FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanni Pena didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Jochem Heesen made the kick off in the second half. If Geovanni Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. In the 70th minute Ahmed Chipo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Carlos Eduardo Ferraz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 70th minute, Evaristo Marinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 75th minute there was a penalty for Canelada FC. Jochem Heesen stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pål Rudkvist. 5-0. Geovanni Pena fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Pål Rudkvist having to interfere. Geovanni Pena scored 6-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pål Rudkvist, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some careless play in the Nome do Time defense, José Guerra kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pål Rudkvist. The Nome do Time fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pål Rudkvist should have stopped the shot. Pål Rudkvist took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jochem Heesen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Canelada FC were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Nome do Time's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Jochem Heesen took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Nome do Time's goalie and right to Di Xu Jun. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Nome do Time's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Guerra in the 93rd minute of play forced Nome do Time's goalkeeper Pål Rudkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 93rd minute, José Guerra ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pål Rudkvist was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Carlos Eduardo Ferraz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdir Rodrigues in the 97th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovanni Pena in the 99th minute of play forced Nome do Time's goalkeeper Pål Rudkvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the referee ended the match the Canelada FC players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
