When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Pedrão Tasso took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Guilherme Vieira to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Tasso in the 14th minute of play forced Sputnik FC's goalkeeper Guilherme Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Campos do Jordão's Denílson Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emanuel Tróia in the 17th minute of play. In the 25th minute Emanuel Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Denílson Soeiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sputnik FC's Francisco da Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Guilherme Vieira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrão Tasso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Sandro Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Pedrão Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Guilherme Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edmundo Gerber hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 32nd minute, Telmo Mesquita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Campos do Jordão's supporters rose to their feet, but Telmo Mesquita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Guilherme Vieira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrão Tasso might have been able to make a better finish in the 36th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guilherme Vieira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pedrão Tasso ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgard Motta during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edgard Motta got free with Guilherme Vieira in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedrão Tasso in the 41st minute of play forced Sputnik FC's goalkeeper Guilherme Vieira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zé Carlos de Brito took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 43rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Denílson Soeiro. Campos do Jordão's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedrão Tasso stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Edgard Motta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Guilherme Vieira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Francisco da Costa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 62nd minute of the match, but Denílson Soeiro made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Campos do Jordão's Olívio Travassos got a free kick in the 62nd minute. After 65 played minutes Sputnik FC got a freekick which was hit by Francisco da Costa. Guilherme Vieira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedrão Tasso went, in the 69th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Denílson Soeiro was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Guto Silva. Denílson Soeiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco da Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in Campos do Jordão's zone, Francisco da Costa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Denílson Soeiro came out of the goal and Francisco da Costa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edmundo Gerber took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 83rd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Denílson Soeiro. Campos do Jordão's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, Campos do Jordão's Pedrão Tasso nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Guilherme Vieira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Pedrão Tasso took the ball and in the 89 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Guilherme Vieira. Guilherme Vieira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-2. When Sputnik FC's Francisco da Costa in the 96th minute got a chance for a shot 96th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Campos do Jordão's goalie prevented a goal. Campos do Jordão walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
