The referee ignored Mundial FC's protests and gave Benjamin Queirós a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Mundial FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Benjamin Queirós hit a great ball. Osvaldo Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 14 minutes into the match, GOTHBOY FC's goalkeeper Dida Pinheiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldo Soares. The audience was convinced that Erik Sanches's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Pinheiro was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. The supporters of Mundial FC booed when GOTHBOY FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dráusio Vieira didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlando Nunes in the 27th minute of play forced Mundial FC's goalkeeper Vladislav Samsonov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28th minute, Osvaldo Soares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 36th match minute, GOTHBOY FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Durval Zonta to maneuver through the defense. Erik Sanches might have been able to make a better finish in the 42nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Dida Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Erik Sanches ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 44th minute, Osvaldo Soares ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dida Pinheiro was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Osvaldo Soares to make the kick off. Erik Sanches took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dida Pinheiro. Dida Pinheiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. The audience was convinced that Osvaldo Soares's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Pinheiro was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. In the 61st match minute, GOTHBOY FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Orlando Nunes to maneuver through the defense. When Erik Sanches came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Mundial FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Sanches couldn't finish the play. A collision led to GOTHBOY FC getting a freekick after 68 minutes play. Durval Zonta hit a great ball. GOTHBOY FC's Dida Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Sanches in the 73rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Erik Sanches managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mundial FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Erik Sanches was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dida Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Osvaldo Soares fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Pinheiro having to interfere. Agostinho Mendes kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. When Osvaldo Soares came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the Mundial FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Soares couldn't finish the play. GOTHBOY FC's Dida Pinheiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erik Sanches in the 85th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as GOTHBOY FC's Durval Zonta slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Vladislav Samsonov. That made the score 3-1 after 90 minutes of play. In the 94th minute Erik Sanches shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Pinheiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Erik Sanches blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dida Pinheiro having to make a save. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Mundial FC fully deserved thier win.
