In the 16thth minute of the game Sidnei Diniz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caturai's Geovani da Silveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Rony de Toledo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Geovani da Silveira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Elano Netto's late challenge caught a Caturai's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Elano Netto helped the player get up and apologised. Caturai's Fausto de Sousa got a good chance for a goal in the 22nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Geovani da Silveira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rony de Toledo in the 26th minute. Claudinho da Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Emanuel Ramos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fausto de Sousa's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. The Caturai fans' excitement grew in the 36th match minute when Caturai's Fausto de Sousa looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The wind increased when Sidnei Diniz made the kick off in the second half. But to his dismay, Sidnei Diniz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Geovani da Silveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rony de Toledo in the 71st minute of play. Rony de Toledo struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Geovani da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Herreria. Rony de Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Geovani da Silveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Caturai's goalkeeper Geovani da Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caturai's Geovani da Silveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Sidnei Diniz in the 85th minute of play. After some careless play in the Herreria defense, Fausto de Sousa kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emanuel Ramos. The Herreria fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emanuel Ramos should have stopped the shot. Oséias Pirani hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. After 93 played minutes Caturai got a freekick which was hit by Fabiano Rezende. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
