Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ibirataia's Leandro Salgado started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute Leandro Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Dedê Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 9th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson de Azevedo having to interfere. Nilson de Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Fernandez in the 11th minute of play. Nilson de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Aílton Novaes in the 12th minute of the match. Dedê Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celsinho Sabóia in the 15th minute of play forced Ibirataia's goalkeeper Nilson de Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nilson de Azevedo came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Goiânia FC's Celsinho Sabóia. But to his dismay, Celsinho Sabóia quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Nilson de Azevedo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dedê Fernandez in the 21st minute of the match. Dedê Fernandez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Paulo José Meira hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. In the 35th match minute, Ibirataia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Valladares to maneuver through the defense. In the 37th minute, Dudu Tróia hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 40th minute, Rafael Dantas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dedê Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson de Azevedo having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Dedê Fernandez to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Goiânia FC's Celsinho Sabóia got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Goiânia FC's Aílton Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Ibirataia getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Dudu Tróia hit a great ball. Goiânia FC's Dedê Fernandez got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nilson de Azevedo was a little too slow when Aílton Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 0-3. In the 67th minute, Goiânia FC's Dedê Fernandez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Nilson de Azevedo. Nilson de Azevedo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Dedê Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson de Azevedo having to interfere. If Aílton Novaes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Dedê Fernandez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goiânia FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Dedê Fernandez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nilson de Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Dedê Fernandez came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Goiânia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dedê Fernandez couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Ibirataia's zone, Dedê Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nilson de Azevedo came out of the goal and Dedê Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 88 minutes, Aílton Novaes took a quick shot and it went in 0-7 without a chance for Nilson de Azevedo to make any attempt to save it. Goiânia FC played a much better game than Ibirataia and deserved their victory. The Ibirataia players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
