Alma Castelhana FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goiânia FC the free kick. A collision led to Alma Castelhana FC getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Joélson de Medeiros hit a great ball. Rafael Geromel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dedê Fernandez in the 13th minute of play. The supporters of Goiânia FC booed when Alma Castelhana FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elivélton Tróia didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Alma Castelhana FC's zone, Dedê Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rafael Geromel came out of the goal and Dedê Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 23rd minute, Aílton Novaes fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. After 33 played minutes Alma Castelhana FC got a freekick which was hit by Joélson de Medeiros. Dedê Fernandez struck a weak shot in the 38th minute. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

Celsinho Sabóia might have been able to make a better finish in the 79th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rafael Geromel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Celsinho Sabóia ran back to his position shaking his head. Dedê Fernandez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rafael Geromel having to make a save. If Celsinho Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Goiânia FC's Aílton Novaes in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Alma Castelhana FC's goalie prevented a goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dedê Fernandez in the 89th minute of play forced Alma Castelhana FC's goalkeeper Rafael Geromel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 90th minute, Celsinho Sabóia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 96 minutes into the match, Alma Castelhana FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dedê Fernandez came free, but Rafael Geromel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
