Trojans United's Afonsinho da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Trojans United from getting a goal against them. Oswaldo Vergílio took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Anísio de Alcântara. Anísio de Alcântara dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 26th minute, Adelino Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Chiquinho Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luiz Eduardo Matos received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Afonsinho da Costa came out and tried to block the shot, but Luiz Eduardo Matos slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 31st minute. A collision led to Trojans United getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Marcus Rodrigues hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Zé Augusto Lopez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Atininga's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Augusto Lopez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Afonsinho da Costa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Atininga getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. César Faustino hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Trojans United's Betinho Sabóia tried to score from far away in the 37th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zé Augusto Lopez in the 38th minute of play forced Trojans United's goalkeeper Afonsinho da Costa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trojans United's Afonsinho da Costa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Trojans United from getting a goal against them.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Chiquinho Freire got free with Anísio de Alcântara in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 56 minutes into the match, Trojans United's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Azevedo came free, but Afonsinho da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 58th minute, Zé Augusto Lopez left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atininga fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. When Zé Augusto Lopez came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Atininga fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Augusto Lopez couldn't finish the play. Afonsinho da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adelino Azevedo in the 62nd minute of the match. 66 minutes into the match, Trojans United's goal looked a bit too open when Adelino Azevedo came free, but Afonsinho da Costa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adelino Azevedo in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Afonsinho da Costa saved Trojans United from getting behind. With a little luck, Atininga's Anísio de Alcântara got control of the ball when Chiquinho Freire tried to sneak it across the goal line. Chiquinho Freire struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Afonsinho da Costa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adelino Azevedo's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. 95 minutes into the match, Zé Augusto Lopez had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonsinho da Costa. Trojans United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Augusto Lopez was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Atininga had played much better football throughout.
