After 8 played minutes Muçum FC got a freekick which was hit by Ronaldinho Vianna. 12 minutes into the game, Simão Palmeira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Muçum FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave EC Boca do Rio the free kick. If Orlando Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 22nd minute, Eliézer Falcão got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 23 played minutes EC Boca do Rio got a freekick which was hit by Nuno de Salles. A collision led to Muçum FC getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Eliézer Falcão hit a great ball. In the 29th minute Dé Koehler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nelsinho Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 30 minutes of play, EC Boca do Rio's Orlando Montenegro made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dadá Hermes was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Ronaldinho Vianna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muçum FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldinho Vianna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nelsinho Moura breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 39 minutes into the match, EC Boca do Rio's goal looked a bit too open when Eliézer Falcão came free, but Nelsinho Moura reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristóvão Fernandes charged in rather forcefully in the 40th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristóvão Fernandes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of EC Boca do Rio booed when Muçum FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When Orlando Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the EC Boca do Rio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Orlando Montenegro couldn't finish the play. Cristóvão Fernandes hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. If Dé Koehler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. EC Boca do Rio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 63rd minute, when Dé Koehler scored to the left of an out of position Nelsinho Moura, making the score, 1-1. In the 68th minute, Orlando Montenegro left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The EC Boca do Rio fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. EC Boca do Rio's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Dé Koehler scored to the left of an out of position Nelsinho Moura, making the score, 2-2. Nelsinho Moura took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé Koehler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 85 minutes into the game, José Carlos Camargo threw the ball into play from the sideline. Muçum FC's Eliézer Falcão quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Muçum FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
