The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Evaristo de Mendonça to strike the kick off in the second half. Doriva Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 54th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Claudinho Cosme's late challenge caught a Curitiba FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Claudinho Cosme helped the player get up and apologised. Claudinho Cosme hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. Doriva Rezende struck a weak shot in the 58th minute. Manoel Pirani didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curitiba FC. Manoel Pirani was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Evaristo de Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Tricolor Fc fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo de Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Maicon Peixoto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Enrique França in the 79th minute of play. Curitiba FC's Maicon Peixoto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique França in the 81st minute of play. Maicon Peixoto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Enrique França went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-5 was the resulting score. The supporters of Tricolor Fc booed when Curitiba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luan Lira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Curitiba FC defense, Evaristo de Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Maicon Peixoto. The Curitiba FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Maicon Peixoto should have stopped the shot. The Curitiba FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Curitiba FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
