After a rather tough play, Abade's Pedro Paulo Chaves got a free kick in the 17th minute. Anísio Araújo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Araújo might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over José Maria Azevedo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anísio Araújo ran back to his position shaking his head. Gino Dias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 33rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Isaltino Melo fell near the penalty area in the 37th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Muricizinho's protests and gave Isaltino Melo a yellow card for diving instead. In the 37th match minute, Muricizinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Isaltino Melo to maneuver through the defense. In the 39th minute, Isaltino Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anísio Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. When the match had been going on for 80 minutes, Muricizinho's Tião Martins got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Cícero Berger. After 82 minutes, Gino Dias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Muricizinho and the Abade players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 82nd match minute, Muricizinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gino Dias to maneuver through the defense. 85 minutes into the match, Muricizinho's goal looked a bit too open when Anísio Araújo came free, but José Maria Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Anísio Araújo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Abade's supporters rose to their feet, but Anísio Araújo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Maria Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Muricizinho's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
