Dé Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Anísio Araújo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Gustavo Breckenfeld read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Cícero Berger showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edson Quadros, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute, Edson Quadros reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Cícero Berger. The goal made the score 2-0. Selefogo's Luís Gustavo Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dé Gonçalves in the 42nd minute of play. If Anísio Araújo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Selefogo's Luís Gustavo Breckenfeld proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Selefogo from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Selefogo getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Dito Berger hit a great ball. In the 64th minute Dé Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Gustavo Breckenfeld saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
