Waldemar Meirelles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tostão Montenegro went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. Waldemar Meirelles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nildo Silva went, in the 13th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. 17 minutes into the match, Independente Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Enéas Quadros came free, but Ramiro do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nildo Silva took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Waldemar Meirelles. Waldemar Meirelles dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. When Nildo Silva came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Independente Brasil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Silva couldn't finish the play. 23 minutes into the game, Independente Brasil's Laerte Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Waldemar Meirelles made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-5. 0-6 became the score in the 25th minute when Nildo Silva elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. A collision led to Curintia Fc getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Juan Moreno hit a great ball. 30 minutes into the game, Tostão Montenegro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Waldemar Meirelles was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After a rather tough play, Curintia Fc's Claudinei de Sena got a free kick in the 33rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Curintia Fc's zone, Tostão Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Waldemar Meirelles came out of the goal and Tostão Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute Tostão Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Waldemar Meirelles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nildo Silva scored 0-8 in the 37th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Waldemar Meirelles, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Waldemar Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Silva in the 40th minute of the match. 42 minutes into the match, Independente Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Raúl Motta came free, but Ramiro do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldemar Meirelles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ciro Batista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Raúl Motta in the 45th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ramiro do Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 46th minute, Nildo Silva made a precise shot to the right of Waldemar Meirelles. Curintia Fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-9. Disappointed in the 0-9 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nildo Silva to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Laerte Marques managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Independente Brasil's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laerte Marques was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Curintia Fc's Waldemar Meirelles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 54th minute of the match, managed to save Curintia Fc from getting a goal against them. Waldemar Meirelles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nildo Silva in the 55th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Curintia Fc's goalkeeper Waldemar Meirelles had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Laerte Marques. When Raúl Motta was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. A collision led to Curintia Fc getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Raúl Motta hit a great ball. Enéas Quadros struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Ramiro do Nascimento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Curintia Fc. Waldemar Meirelles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Varela in the 70th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Nildo Silva took a quick shot and it went in 0-10 without a chance for Waldemar Meirelles to make any attempt to save it. 78 minutes into the match, Curintia Fc's goal looked a bit too open when Nildo Silva came free, but Waldemar Meirelles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Waldemar Meirelles came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Independente Brasil's Laerte Marques. But to his dismay, Laerte Marques quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-11. Claudinei de Sena charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Claudinei de Sena the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 81st minute, Claudinei de Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 84 minutes into the match, Laerte Marques notched a goal, 0-12, to the right of Curintia Fc's Waldemar Meirelles. Waldemar Meirelles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Curintia Fc's Waldemar Meirelles proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Curintia Fc from getting a goal against them. Paulo Renato Sarmento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Ramiro do Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nildo Silva in the 94th minute of play forced Curintia Fc's goalkeeper Waldemar Meirelles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Juan Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
