Tostão Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Nildo Silva's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Murillo Simões was relentless in the 8th minute of the game. When Tostão Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Independente Brasil fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tostão Montenegro couldn't finish the play. 11 minutes into the match, MotoSerra FC's goal looked a bit too open when Tostão Montenegro came free, but Murillo Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 12 minutes into the game, Independente Brasil's Laerte Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Murillo Simões made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Ramiro do Nascimento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jonas Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Luís Albuquerque recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Tostão Montenegros short, quick shot in the 20thth minute got Murillo Simões to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Nildo Silva struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Murillo Simões didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Independente Brasil. Ramiro do Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arlindo Recife, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Nildo Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Murillo Simões saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th match minute, MotoSerra FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Arlindo Recife to maneuver through the defense. Independente Brasil's Ramiro do Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís Albuquerque in the 37th minute of play. 38 minutes into the game, Independente Brasil's Laerte Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jonas Paiva stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. A collision led to MotoSerra FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Guto do Vale hit a great ball. Ramiro do Nascimento made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arlindo Recife in the 62nd minute of play. Ramiro do Nascimento was a little too slow when Luís Albuquerque got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 65th minute. The score was now 2-1. 72 minutes into the match, Independente Brasil's goal looked a bit too open when Jonas Paiva came free, but Ramiro do Nascimento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Guto do Vale kicked well hit freekick during the 73rd minute of the match. If Laerte Marques had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 85th minute, Nildo Silva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nildo Silva in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Murillo Simões saved MotoSerra FC from getting behind. Luís Albuquerque's late challenge caught a Independente Brasil's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Albuquerque helped the player get up and apologised. If Tostão Montenegro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
