Mateo Ascencio ran back to his position shaking his head. If César do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 18 minutes, César do Vale mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pimenteiras FC and the Sheldon Cooper PHD players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 17 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pimenteiras FC! The referee gave Sheldon Cooper PHD a penalty, 18 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by João Adolfo Pontes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Pimenteiras FC's Marco Holzheuer. 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mateo Ascencio in the 23rd minute of play forced Sheldon Cooper PHD's goalkeeper Erik da Fonseca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Mateo Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot. Pimenteiras FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Mateo Ascencio was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Erik da Fonseca breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If João Adolfo Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Albertinho Rosa was the one to do the kick off. 54 minutes into the game, César do Vale cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Erik da Fonseca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Álvaro Messias kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. After having played for 62 minutes, Albertinho Rosa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sheldon Cooper PHD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertinho Rosa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sheldon Cooper PHD's Erik da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Ascencio in the 66th minute of play. Erik da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César do Vale in the 68th minute of play. Mateo Ascencio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 72nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 73 minutes, Mateo Ascencio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pimenteiras FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Mateo Ascencio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pimenteiras FC's César do Vale got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Erik da Fonseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mateo Ascencio in the 79th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Mateo Ascencio in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Erik da Fonseca saved Sheldon Cooper PHD from getting behind. After 82 minutes of play, Pimenteiras FC's César do Vale made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Erik da Fonseca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sheldon Cooper PHD's Erik da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mateo Ascencio in the 86th minute of play. If César do Vale had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Pimenteiras FC had played much better football throughout.
