Guga Soutos short, quick shot in the 15thth minute got Lei Bin Xing to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Claudinei Pinheiro kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. In the 27th minute Flávio Dionísio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lei Bin Xing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Amadeu Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marquinhos Peixoto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goiás Esporte Clube's Amadeu Gaspar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Walmir Cosme in the 32nd minute of play. Amadeu Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Walmir Cosme in the 35th minute of play. Claudinei Pinheiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amadeu Gaspar having to interfere. Amadeu Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jacinto Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 42 minutes, Claudinei Pinheiro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cianorte FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Claudinei Pinheiro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Guga Souto managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goiás Esporte Clube's supporters rose to their feet, but Guga Souto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Lei Bin Xing breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lei Bin Xing made an important save on a dangerous shot by Guga Souto in the 45th minute. A collision led to Cianorte FC getting a freekick after 48 minutes play. Claudinei Pinheiro hit a great ball. If Flávio Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 49th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Walmir Cosme stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Goiás Esporte Clube's Nelsinho Lima got a free kick in the 60th minute. Pedrinho Valadares was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 61st played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Goiás Esporte Clube were furious when Nelsinho Lima was red carded, 63 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 65th minute there was a penalty for Cianorte FC. Pedrinho Valadares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Amadeu Gaspar. 1-1. Zé Pedro da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The long shot by Dorian Gerber in the 70th minute really tested Amadeu Gaspar's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Flávio Dionísio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Pedro da Mata sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 79th minute, Flávio Dionísio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cianorte FC's Jacinto Goiano got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Cianorte FC booed when Goiás Esporte Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zé Pedro da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Walmir Cosme got free in front of the goal in the 88th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Amadeu Gaspar was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Amadeu Gaspar made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Jacinto Goiano sent off a good shot on target. Amadeu Gaspar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Walmir Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Goiás Esporte Clube were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Cianorte FC to leave the ground with a draw.
