Edu Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nuno Custódio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 20th minute, Sandrinho Netto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Álvaro Tróia in the 25th minute of play forced PALHAÇADA FC's goalkeeper Guto Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, Pedro Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pedro Barros's late challenge caught a Tutoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Barros helped the player get up and apologised. In the 29th match minute, PALHAÇADA FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Barros to maneuver through the defense. Bruno Domingues, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. If Álvaro Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Guto Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Álvaro Tróia in the 41st minute of the match. Guto Brito showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Álvaro Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. After 47 played minutes PALHAÇADA FC got a freekick which was hit by Basílio de Alcântara. After the first half PALHAÇADA FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Sandrinho Netto made a kick off. 57 minutes into the match, PALHAÇADA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Álvaro Tróia came free, but Guto Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Tutoia's goalkeeper Edu Valladares, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edu Valladares showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandrinho Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. In the 76th minute the ball was on its way in behind PALHAÇADA FC's goalkeeper Guto Brito, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Guto Quadros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Guto Brito having to interfere. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Guto Quadros couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute, Álvaro Tróia got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Guto Quadros in the 94th minute of play forced PALHAÇADA FC's goalkeeper Guto Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nuno Custódio struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Edu Valladares didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PALHAÇADA FC. The PALHAÇADA FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing PALHAÇADA FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
