PALHAÇADA FC's Guto Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guto Quadros in the 2nd minute of play. Guto Brito took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Tróia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, PALHAÇADA FC's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Quadros came free, but Guto Brito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sandrinho Netto received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Edu Valladares came out and tried to block the shot, but Sandrinho Netto slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 11th minute. Luisão Britto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Guto Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fabrício Munhoz's late challenge caught a Tutoia's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fabrício Munhoz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, PALHAÇADA FC's Fabrício Munhoz got a free kick in the 16th minute. When Tutoia's Guto Quadros in the 21st minute got a chance for a shot 21st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye PALHAÇADA FC's goalie prevented a goal. After 30 minutes of play, Tutoia's Álvaro Tróia made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Guto Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 44th minute Guto Quadros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guto Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Álvaro Tróia came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Tutoia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Álvaro Tróia couldn't finish the play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Álvaro Tróia was the one to do the kick off. Guto Quadros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 53rd minute Nuno Custódio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edu Valladares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, PALHAÇADA FC's Nuno Custódio sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edu Valladares narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 60th minute of the match PALHAÇADA FC got a corner. Tutoia's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristóvão Marquez ran over to the corner to take the kick. Álvaro Tróia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Álvaro Tróia might have been able to make a better finish in the 71st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guto Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Álvaro Tróia ran back to his position shaking his head. 75 minutes into the match, Severino Souza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Guto Brito. PALHAÇADA FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Severino Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After having played for 84 minutes, Nuno Custódio managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PALHAÇADA FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nuno Custódio was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Álvaro Tróia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
