Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dário Peres made the kick off and thus started the match. Emílio de Senna kicked well hit freekick during the 12th minute of the match. Fabrício Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 17th minute of the match, but Rubinho Reis made a huge save. Dário Peres did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-1 to the left of a surprised Rubinho Reis 18 minutes into the match. Dário Peres was extremely unlucky when he, in the 21st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The supporters of E. C. Flamengo Paraibano booed when Grêmio Garibaldi was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leandro Mattos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Juninho Brito made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Valladares in the 26th minute of play. If Leandro Mattos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's zone, Leandro Mattos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubinho Reis came out of the goal and Leandro Mattos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dário Peres got free with Rubinho Reis in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Mané Arantes to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dário Peres in the 52nd minute of play forced E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goalkeeper Rubinho Reis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Grêmio Garibaldi booed when E. C. Flamengo Paraibano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ian de Queiroz didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 55th minute, Bernardinho Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Grêmio Garibaldi's supporters rose to their feet, but Bernardinho Pinho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rubinho Reis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 57 minutes into the match, Grêmio Garibaldi's goalkeeper Juninho Brito had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Fausto Valladares. Bernardinho Pinho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Rubinho Reis having to make a save. Juninho Brito made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Fausto Valladares sent off a good shot on target. After 65 minutes of play, Grêmio Garibaldi's Dário Peres made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Rubinho Reis was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Dário Peres had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the game, Leandro Mattos cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Rubinho Reis was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Bernardinho Pinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rubinho Reis having to interfere. Rubinho Reis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabrício Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's Rubinho Reis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Peres in the 85th minute of play. 92 minutes into the match, E. C. Flamengo Paraibano's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Peres came free, but Rubinho Reis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
