Fabiano Mandrak kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Imbiara EC's Edvaldo Guedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Peres in the 47th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dário Peres made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Grêmio Garibaldi's Dário Peres ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Edvaldo Guedes. Edvaldo Guedes yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Edvaldo Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Peres in the 55th minute of the match. With 59 minutes on the clock, Leandro Rodrigues commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. Sidney Trevisan shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Bernardinho Pinho struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Edvaldo Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Grêmio Garibaldi. The Grêmio Garibaldi fans' excitement grew in the 76th match minute when Grêmio Garibaldi's Sidney Trevisan looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The Imbiara EC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Grêmio Garibaldi were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
