Paulão Proença's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dedê Toscano read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dedê Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ramiro Prata received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Dedê Toscano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Tilápia fc's goalkeeper Dedê Toscano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Anísio Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ramiro Prata in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dedê Toscano saved Tilápia fc from getting behind. After having played for 31 minutes, Anísio Pena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Tilápia fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Anísio Pena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Embirizal's Conrado Neiva got a free kick in the 34th minute. Luciano Loyola fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Giovanni Branco having to interfere. If Anísio Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Giovanni Branco made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Anísio Pena sent off a good shot on target.

Ramiro Prata fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dedê Toscano having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anísio Pena in the 54th minute of play forced Embirizal's goalkeeper Giovanni Branco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tilápia fc's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Geovânio Mineiro in the 55th minute. Giovanni Branco took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Anísio Pena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 60th minute, Dudu Esteves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Giovanni Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Loyola in the 61st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 63rd minute, Luciano Loyola managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tilápia fc's supporters rose to their feet, but Luciano Loyola was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Giovanni Branco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luciano Loyola took the ball and in the 70 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Giovanni Branco. Giovanni Branco dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Anísio Pena struck a weak shot in the 81st minute.
