After 12 minutes, Valdomiro Bezerra mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lamina and the Diamentina FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Diamentina FC booed when Lamina was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Valdomiro Bezerra didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 14th match minute, Lamina was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Duda Silveira to maneuver through the defense. Horácio Cerezo was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 15th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Diamentina FC's goalkeeper Oscar Vides, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 59th minute Geraldo Corrêa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oscar Vides saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo José Carioca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kauan Costa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 63rd minute of play. Kauan Costa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo José Carioca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Ernesto Toledo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 68 minutes into the game, Lamina's Otávio Galvão nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The Lamina supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Lamina would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
