Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Gilvan Maia kicked off to start the match. Diguinho Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Vítor de Brito in the 5th minute of play. With his leg Diguinho Paiva managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Gorino's Virgílio Soeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 10 minutes into the game, Nico Meireles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mariapopolis's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Gorino the free kick. 13 minutes into the game, Virgílio Soeiro cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Diguinho Paiva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Virgílio Soeiro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 18th minute, Durvalino Peixoto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gilvan Maia in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bruninho Moura saved Gorino from getting behind. 40 minutes into the match, Mariapopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Claudinho Berger came free, but Diguinho Paiva reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Claudinho Berger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Claudinho Berger kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Gilvan Maia sped through Gorino's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bruninho Moura. Gilvan Maia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 50th minute. Bruninho Moura tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Gorino players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mariapopolis were winning 1-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Claudinho Berger stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Diguinho Paiva didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Virgílio Soeiro went, in the 54th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. Gorino's Jano Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Virgílio Soeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diguinho Paiva having to interfere. In the 63rd match minute, Mariapopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Tinoco to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Gorino's Bruninho Moura got control of the ball when Dorian Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Mariapopolis getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dinei Tinoco hit a great ball. If Virgílio Soeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jano Linhares was shown his second yellow card after 79 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 80 played minutes Gorino got a freekick which was hit by Jano Linhares. A collision led to Gorino getting a freekick after 82 minutes play. Claudinho Berger hit a great ball. In the 85th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gorino's goalkeeper Bruninho Moura, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 88thth minute of the game José Vítor de Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mariapopolis's Diguinho Paiva was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Virgílio Soeiro came up free with the goalie in the 91st minute, the Gorino fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Virgílio Soeiro couldn't finish the play. Virgílio Soeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Vargas during the 98th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
