Marcelinho de Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cássio Donatello's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. Renatinho Lopess short, quick shot in the 38thth minute got Brasil Penta to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 39th minute of the game. One of Jonizo:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FrangoMal FC:s goal. The referee gave FrangoMal FC a penalty, 41 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Osvaldo Pitta, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Jonizo's Marcelinho de Sousa. 0-3. After the first half FrangoMal FC were leading 0-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

After 54 minutes, Belmiro Souza mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FrangoMal FC and the Jonizo players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, FrangoMal FC's Belmiro Souza got a free kick in the 54th minute. After some careless play in the FrangoMal FC defense, Charles do Nascimento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brasil Penta. The FrangoMal FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brasil Penta should have stopped the shot. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal.
