After a rather tough play, Nordestão Futebol Clube's Yan Netto got a free kick in the 11th minute. With a little luck, Nordestão Futebol Clube's Yuri Vinhas got control of the ball when Dorian Garcia tried to sneak it across the goal line. Gilvan Maia received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Yuri Vinhas came out and tried to block the shot, but Gilvan Maia slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 30th minute. In the 37th minute, Gilvan Maia reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Yuri Vinhas. The goal made the score 2-1. 40 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Yuri Vinhas had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorian Garcia. 43 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Maia came free, but Yuri Vinhas reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diguinho Paiva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Yan Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yan Netto couldn't finish the play. Diguinho Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Agostinho Vianna in the 57th minute of play. Yuri Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Maicon Terra, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Nordestão Futebol Clube's Nuno Pontes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Diguinho Paiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Yuri Vinhas didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gilvan Maia went, in the 67th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Nuno Pontes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 72ndth minute tested the skills of Diguinho Paiva when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 73 minutes into the game, Mariapopolis's Gilvan Maia nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Yuri Vinhas made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. Through an outstanding action, after 80 minutes, Diguinho Paiva successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. With his leg Diguinho Paiva managed to avoid a goal in the 82ndth minute, when Nordestão Futebol Clube's Nuno Pontes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Yuri Vinhas showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorian Garcia, who was totally free with the ball in the 84th minute. If Nuno Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Diguinho Paiva was a little too slow when Yan Netto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 87th minute. The score was now 4-3. Diguinho Paiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Yan Netto in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Mariapopolis's zone, Agostinho Vianna stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Diguinho Paiva came out of the goal and Agostinho Vianna tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mariapopolis's Diguinho Paiva proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Mariapopolis from getting a goal against them.
