In the 16th minute, José Pedro Correia ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Diguinho Paiva was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Jedrzej Domalik showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Juvenal de Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Jedrzej Domalik made an important save on a dangerous shot by Flávio Sarmento in the 25th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dorian Garcia in the 35th minute of play forced ESTOPIM CAMPINAS's goalkeeper Jedrzej Domalik to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 37 minutes into the match, Mariapopolis's Dorian Garcia sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jedrzej Domalik narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The wind increased when José Pedro Correia made the kick off in the second half. Gustavo Messias's late challenge caught a Mariapopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Messias helped the player get up and apologised. If Dorian Garcia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mariapopolis booed when ESTOPIM CAMPINAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Christiano de Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Mariapopolis getting a freekick after 59 minutes play. Juvenal de Alcântara hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Mariapopolis's Isaltino Recife got a free kick in the 65th minute. Jedrzej Domalik took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flávio Sarmento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mariapopolis's Flávio Sarmento in the 80th minute got a chance for a shot 80th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
