Dorian Garcia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Alexsandro Tasso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. João Vítor Schmidt's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Diguinho Paiva read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. Mariapopolis's supporters rose to their feet, but Dorian Garcia was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The audience was convinced that Flávio Sarmento's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexsandro Tasso was relentless in the 35th minute of the game. Diguinho Paiva was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and João Vítor Schmidt capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Vítor Schmidt to make the kick off. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Tayio Esporte Clube.
