Tony Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Valle having to interfere. 15 minutes into the game, Carumu FC's Christiano Pontes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonçalo Valle made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Baltazar Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Luís Fernando Paulista made a huge save. Kauã de Amaral hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Afonsinho Jacinto hit a great freekick 24 minutes into the match. Tony Lopes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonçalo Valle having to interfere. In the 28th minute Tony Lopes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonçalo Valle saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 35 played minutes Carumu FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Cabral. After 37 minutes of play, Carumu FC's Ciro Fernandez made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Gonçalo Valle was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gonçalo Valle made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Falcão Carvalho in the 41st minute of play. A collision led to Joviania getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Kauã de Amaral hit a great ball. Joviania's Romeu Netto got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 46th match minute, Carumu FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afonsinho Jacinto to maneuver through the defense. Luís Fernando Paulista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Baltazar Paiva in the 48th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tony Lopes made a kick off. David Andrade struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Luís Fernando Paulista didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Joviania. Luís Fernando Paulista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kauã de Amaral, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. When Tony Lopes, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 59 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Gonçalo Valle was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tony Lopes in the 61st minute of play forced Joviania's goalkeeper Gonçalo Valle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tony Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 64th minute of the match, but Gonçalo Valle made a huge save. 70 minutes into the match, Joviania's goalkeeper Gonçalo Valle had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tony Lopes. In the 73rd minute, Kauã de Amaral hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Joviania's zone, Ciro Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gonçalo Valle came out of the goal and Ciro Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The long shot by Chiquinho dos Santos in the 91st minute really tested Gonçalo Valle's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With an all-out effort, Carumu FC's Gonçalo Valle threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Ciro Fernandez, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The Joviania supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Carumu FC's performance. The match ended with a win for Carumu FC.
