When Gilvan Souza fell near the penalty area in the 17th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bartolomeu's protests and gave Gilvan Souza a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Real Safira C.F's Percival Borges got a free kick in the 19th minute. Bartolomeu's Gilvan Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 21st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 26 minutes into the match, Real Safira C.F's goal looked a bit too open when Gilvan Souza came free, but Ernesto Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 27 played minutes Real Safira C.F got a freekick which was hit by Percival Borges. After having played for 41 minutes, Yan Torres managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. In the 47th minute, Celso Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Gilvan Souza struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Ernesto Leão didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Bartolomeu. Percival Borges charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Percival Borges the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 63rd match minute, Bartolomeu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Mello to maneuver through the defense. When Gilvan Souza came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the Bartolomeu fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilvan Souza couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Bartolomeu fully deserved thier win.
