When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Joaquim Vinhas put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Ronaldão Viana. When Didi Lira came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the vasco fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Didi Lira couldn't finish the play. 33 minutes in the game Davi Pinho did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Rodrigo Ramalho. The Parauapebas players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. vasco were winning 0-1.

The supporters of vasco booed when Parauapebas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio da Mata didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joaquim Vinhas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Ronaldão Viana firmly grabbed it by the left post.
