The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Tomás Capixaba struck a weak shot in the 3rd minute. Ahmet Rıfat Erdem didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mirari AD. Cícero Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. 12 minutes into the game, Adelino Batista recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cícero Amorim. Adelino Batista showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Ricardinho Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. In the 21st minute, Tomás Capixaba made a precise shot to the right of Ahmet Rıfat Erdem. Abolição FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. If Tomás Capixaba had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mirari AD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 33rd minute, when Adelino Batista scored to the left of an out of position Cícero Amorim, making the score, 2-1. In the 38th match minute, Abolição FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ronaldão da Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.

The wind increased when Adelino Batista made the kick off in the second half. Ricardinho Albuquerque kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Abolição FC's Ahmet Rıfat Erdem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Abolição FC from getting a goal against them. After having played for 62 minutes, Tomás Capixaba managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mirari AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Capixaba was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Marcos Souto came up free with the goalie in the 63rd minute, the Mirari AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Souto couldn't finish the play. In the 68th minute, Tomás Capixaba fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. 69 minutes into the game, one of Abolição FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Marcos Souto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ahmet Rıfat Erdem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardinho Albuquerque hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Ademar Carvalho, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomás Capixaba in the 83rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ahmet Rıfat Erdem saved Abolição FC from getting behind. Abolição FC's Adelino Batista got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tiago Gabriel Esteves might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero Amorim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tiago Gabriel Esteves ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Abolição FC's zone, Tomás Capixaba stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ahmet Rıfat Erdem came out of the goal and Tomás Capixaba tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mirari AD's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
