The audience thought a goal was coming when Tião Paes got free with Percival Guimarães in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Percival Guimarães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cícero Martins in the 24th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Christian Machado in the 25th minute of play forced Aimorés's goalkeeper Percival Guimarães to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
