Adrianinho Neto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tales Santos in the 13th minute of the match. In the 15th minute Yuri Goiano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sérgio Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 18 minutes, Paulão Leão made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Imortal Tricolor's Adrianinho Neto tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Paulão Leão came up free with the goalie in the 32nd minute, the Maratoneiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Paulão Leão couldn't finish the play. Maratoneiro's supporters rose to their feet, but Cauan Gonçalves was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. In the 71st minute, Tales Santos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the game, Paulão Leão recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Adrianinho Neto. Paulão Leão showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-2. If Paulão Leão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 78 minutes into the game, Gabriel de Medeiros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Imortal Tricolor's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Maratoneiro the free kick. In the 88th minute of the match Imortal Tricolor got a corner. Maratoneiro's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Yuri Goiano ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Yuri Goiano got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Sérgio Paulista quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Yuri Goiano's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Paulista read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 91st minute of play. In the 97th minute Paulão Leão shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Adrianinho Neto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Maratoneiro's Tales Santos got a good chance for a goal in the 98th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Maratoneiro players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
