The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Falcão Rosa fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S E Palmeiras's protests and gave Falcão Rosa a yellow card for diving instead. After 6 played minutes S E Palmeiras got a freekick which was hit by Falcão Rosa. When Maurinho Lago came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Calcoene fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurinho Lago couldn't finish the play. Bruno Godoi made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Maurinho Lago sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Antônio Meirelles's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bruno Godoi was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. Tales Guerra charged in rather forcefully in the 21st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tales Guerra the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Tales Guerra kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Giovani Peixoto took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dorival Novaes. Dorival Novaes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When the match had gone on for 25 minutes, Maurinho Lago put it in 1-1 from a short distance just to the right of Bruno Godoi. Bruno Godoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Meirelles in the 30th minute of play. Calcoene's Dorival Novaes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Souza in the 35th minute of play. Bruno Godoi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Antônio Meirelles, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Maurinho Lago got free with Bruno Godoi in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Antônio Meirelles in the 42nd minute of play forced S E Palmeiras's goalkeeper Bruno Godoi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 45th minute Antônio Meirelles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruno Godoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, S E Palmeiras's Giovani Peixoto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dorival Novaes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. The Calcoene players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Bruno Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Lago in the 55th minute of the match. If Gernando Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bruno Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maurinho Lago, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Calcoene's Dorival Novaes got control of the ball when Giovani Peixoto tried to sneak it across the goal line. 71 minutes into the game, Calcoene's Antônio Meirelles nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bruno Godoi made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. After a rather tough play, S E Palmeiras's Samuel Quadros got a free kick in the 79th minute. 82 minutes into the match, S E Palmeiras's goal looked a bit too open when Antônio Meirelles came free, but Bruno Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tales Guerra scored 3-2 in the 88th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bruno Godoi, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Maurinho Lago recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Flavinho Vianna took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Bruno Godoi. S E Palmeiras's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. For all the effort they put into the match, the S E Palmeiras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Calcoene.
