The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 5th minute of the game. One of Argento 1972:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Praia Grande MZC:s goal. After 14 minutes of play, Praia Grande MZC's Prosper Lebraud made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Potiguar was left in no man's land by his defense there! Gilson Damião hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Hortêncio Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zachariasz Bronicki, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Argento 1972 were awarded a corner in the 21th minute after Praia Grande MZC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Zachariasz Bronicki took the corner. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luiz Soares in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dida Potiguar saved Argento 1972 from getting behind.
