After having played for 22 minutes, Zé Carlos Vidal managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cantao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zé Carlos Vidal was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Iuri Gerber to make the kick off. Anísio Linares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iuri Gerber in the 54th minute of play. If Anderson Lopes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. Anísio Linares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dé Castro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Murillo Travassos was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 74 minutes had been played. After 78 played minutes Cantao got a freekick which was hit by Dé Castro. 87 minutes into the match, Zé Carlos Vidal had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Anísio Linares. Lemon Haze FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Zé Carlos Vidal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. After having played for 91 minutes, Anderson Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luisão Botelho came out of the goal and Anderson Lopes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
