After 4 played minutes, Itaberaba FC's Alan Garcia shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gilmar Camargo came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Itaberaba FC reached it. Gerson Xavier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edvaldo Borges's late challenge caught a Itaberaba FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edvaldo Borges helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute, Edvaldo Borges hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Itaberaba FC's zone, Gerson Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Cruz came out of the goal and Gerson Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gerson Xavier struck a weak shot in the 20th minute. Rubens Cruz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Piem. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Geovanni Berger during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Piem booed when Itaberaba FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Geovanni Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Jailson Couto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Edvaldo Borges came up free with the goalie in the 31st minute, the Piem fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edvaldo Borges couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Piem's Jano Trigo got a free kick in the 32nd minute. 34 minutes into the match, Piem's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Couto came free, but Gilmar Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rubens Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Pinho in the 39th minute of the match. Gilmar Camargo had great luck who in the 41stth minute grab hold of the ball when Jailson Couto from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 46th minute, Itaberaba FC's Jailson Couto dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The wind increased when Jailson Couto made the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rony Pinho in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rubens Cruz saved Itaberaba FC from getting behind. Abelardo Custódio kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. If Fabiano Vinhas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Piem's Sydney Neto broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Rubens Cruz had great luck who in the 75thth minute grab hold of the ball when Rony Pinho from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. In the 77th minute, Fabiano Vinhas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gilmar Camargo was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Rubens Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rony Pinho in the 80th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Itaberaba FC's zone, Gerson Xavier stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rubens Cruz came out of the goal and Gerson Xavier tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jailson Couto in the 84th minute of play forced Piem's goalkeeper Gilmar Camargo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 89 minutes into the match, Piem's goal looked a bit too open when Jailson Couto came free, but Gilmar Camargo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 93 minutes into the match, Jailson Couto had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Gilmar Camargo. Piem's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jailson Couto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Itaberaba FC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Piem had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
