The Conquistas Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Valdir Viana should have stopped the shot. 24 minutes into the match, Conquistas Futebol Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Olívio de Lara came free, but Valdir Viana reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 25 minutes Conquistas Futebol Clube's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Vivaldo Severo who took care of the corner kick. Marcus Costa was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. If Geraldo Xavier had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. Valdir Viana came out of the goal in the 35th minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal - PE's Olívio de Lara. But to his dismay, Olívio de Lara quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 43rd minute, Geraldo Xavier reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Renato Cerezo. The goal made the score 1-4.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Olívio de Lara to strike the kick off in the second half. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Wanderson Cardoso took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Valdir Viana to make any attempt to save it. If Olívio de Lara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. In the 82nd minute Gabriel Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Renato Cerezo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
